Hi, I’m Laura Bourchier—a Clothing Psychology Educator with a background in fashion styling, costume design for stage and screen, and a MSc in Psychology.

My work explores the powerful intersection between clothing and psychology—how what we wear shapes the way we think, feel, behave, and are perceived by others. Grounded in behavioural and cognitive science, and enriched by years of applied industry experience, I help individuals and organisations use clothing as a tool for confidence, communication, identity, and wellbeing.

My professional background spans both commercial and creative sectors, including Peaky Blinders (Series 5), York Theatre Royal, Hull Theatre, and The Shakespeare Rose Theatre. I also collaborate with museums and heritage organisations including Jorvik Viking Centre and Wakefield Museums & Castles, supporting interpretive storytelling through clothing and design.

From academic research to real-world application, my approach now blends scientific rigour with creative practice.
